Season Finale

Season Finale

Thanks for a Great Season!

Reflections on the season

For us, the end of the CSA season is always bittersweet. We get to breathe a big sigh of relief to be done with the strenuous work that our CSA season entails, but we also look back at our season with a sense of fondness and pride and we think about how we'll miss the direct connection to our community on a regular basis. Thanks to all our members who supported our farm this season!

Our work is never quite done

Being done with our CSA doesn't mean that our work is done. We still need to put our garden to bed and prepare for winter. We also have many additional tasks that we've been putting off such as replacing our main greenhouse for starter plants and installing an outdoor wood-fired boiler for heating the greenhouse. We need to increase our capacity to meet out our demand of our greenhouse plants. A good problem to have, but a big project to take on!

There's also much planning to do for next year! Even before our season ends, we are planning for the upcoming season... Each week we make mental notes about this, that or the other thing that we could have done better. During the winter months we really dive in to the nitty gritty details of planning.

Goals for next season

The goals we made at our mid season point still hold true:

  • Keep our CSA membership small at around 50 members.

  • Continue to improve the quality of our offerings.

  • Create a more streamlined harvest and packing process.

  • Look for additional ways to connect with our community (Hopefully in the form of gathering).

  • Continue to inspire, encourage and train aspiring farmers.

  • Plant even more flowers!
